BUSAN
Nurimaru APEC House
This is one of the most iconic structures in Busan. The 3rd floor of the Nurimaru APEC House was the venue where the 2nd leaders' meeting was held on the morning of November 19, 2005.
The interior ceiling of the conference hall located on the 3rd floor has a Seokguram grotto motif, which represents the utmost of Korean beauty. The wall was finished with Korean-style latticework and natural silk in pursuit of moderation and stability, helping to make this space look more traditional. Also, one wall of the antechamber is decorated with a hanging frame of the original whole text of Hunminjeongeum, or the Correct Sounds for Educating the People, while one wall of the lobby at the entrance is decorated with a lacquerwork inlaid with mother-of-pearl that depicts Sibijangasengdo, A Picture of 12 Longevity Symbols, which is housed in the National Palace Museum in the palace Changdeokgung.
